How do you even apply for this job? No disrespect, I love veterans, I dislike our government. Both parties.

Imagine being a first-time visitor, coming in in the middle of the changing of the guard, unaware you're supposed to stand, the sentinels call you out, you apologize and try to explain you just got here, only to make matters worse because you have to be silent and respectful.

Only the dead know the end of war. Four people have been buried in the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, one each for World War I, World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. However, the body buried on behalf of soldiers in Vietnam was later exhumed.Nov 4, 2021 DNA testing during the 1990s revealed that the Vietnam unknown was in fact First Lt. Michael J. Blassie, whose remains were subsequently exhumed.

To clarify - only the WWI Unknown Soldier is in the Tomb. The others have crypts directly in front of the Tomb.

I love the ceremony. I don’t feel like the speech is needed. Just being there alone is enough to get the point across…it kinda reminds me of the kings guard in England (I’m still used to calling it the queens guard)

I have head it called the slide step. Marching bands ue it. It keeps you from bobbing as you march. If you watch the top of his hat or his bayonet point, they don't bob up and down.
